Having a boy (or 2 or 3 or….) definitely changes you. Case in point: I found myself wrestling with my five-year-old niece today. After years of parenting boys, “wrestle” somehow equals “play” in my brain.
Maybe that’s why I found Outnumbered Mom’s post, The Paradox of Parenting Boys, so intriguing. Head on over. Take a look. Tell me what you think.

Thanks for the link, it is soo true! I have quite an impressive stack of sticks inside the house, my neighbor has been saving big boxes so the kids can use them for whatever they come up with, and the laundry is DIRTY! We also have a pile of stones that are not to be discarded, and my living room has as much agility equipment as a small gym!
Thanks for the mention, Jennifer. We boy moms understand each other, don’t we?
It seems we just talk the same language. Life is crazy with a bunch of boys, but I do love it!
Hahaha – I had to laugh about the sticks. DH is forever pulling sticks out of our car and asking “Why are there more sticks??” And I’m always trying to explain that those are “good” sticks (so says my son, though I’m not entirely sure what constitutes a good stick 😉
thanks for stopping by my blog!!! i love your idea about the weapons in history book!! your boys are at that age where they would totally love that! thats a great idea for the future for me.
and i LOVE “B.B.” haha! first time i’ve seen that, but i’m sure not the last 🙂
Wait till you have granddaughters. I’m in the same boat. I won’t know how to treat little girls.
